Low dose naltrexone (LDN 1-4.5 mg) is a generic drug used in much higher doses (50 mg) to treat drug and alcohol abuse. In low doses it is shown effective against multiple autoimmune diseases including Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and more. It was only studied once against T1D, decades ago and without the same test equipment we have today, and only on a very small group. It resulted in a much longer honeymoon phase, and could be effective at delaying the onset of T1D. Since the drug is generic there is no financial engine driving research like there are with patented drugs.
Overexposure to antibiotics, consumption of gluten, consumption of dairy by expecting mothers or by children aged 0-5 is highly correlated with T1D onset. Limiting antibiotics and altering the diet are ways to limit the odds of developing the disease. Virus such as Epstein Barr, Coxsackie B, and COVID are all correlated with autoimmune diseases: vaccination can be protective against onset. We are seeing a massive increase in new T1D cases following the pandemic.
Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup and other insecticides and herbicides. It was originally used as an antibiotic but has been repurposed for agriculture. It is used far more in the US than anywhere else in the world. It has been so overused in the US that it is now found in rainwater and most soils used for farming. This antibiotic is nearly impossible to avoid, but exposure can be limited, with deliberate effort. Glyphosate will likely be looked upon as the asbestos of our time, and its damage is only now becoming known. There are mounting lawsuits, including many types of cancer.
